The 1973 2.7 liter Carrera RS is truly one of Porsche’s most legendary vehicles. With the goal to participate in Group 4 / Spezial GT Porsche built overall 1,580 units (it is rumored that 1,590 were built) in 1972/73. Based on the 911 2.4 S version the RS featured a larger engine (2.687 ccm), the iconic „Bürzel“ in the rear, the striping on the sides and the Fuchs alloy wheels besides further specifications (larger brakes, suspension etc.).
Vehicle No. 1512 is one of the very last RS models. Built and delivered in late 1973, it has been registered ever since in Germany, currently in 3rd ownership.
This RS (M472) is one of overall 1,308 touring editions of the legendary Carrera. With its matching-numbers for chassis, gearbox and engine it went through an extensive 2 year restoration (2013-2015 by a Porsche Restoration Specialist in Germany) of technical elements and body work including its original color & trim. This is 1 of only 79 RS in vivid color „Viperngrün“. Restoration focused on keeping vehicle true to the original (documentation is available upon request).
This vehicle was / is not used for racing purposes and has been known by the current owner for more than 30 years – also the previous owner is still available in terms of questions/information.
